Bruwick Debate Competition

A good news for anyone who loves debate!


The Brunei Warwick Society are hosting a Debate Competition for Brunei Societies throughout the United Kingdom (Click here to see more updates from the organiser, BruWick Student Society).

Apparently, we need more people to form our own debate team. Therefore, any interested individuals can contact Jalyn Goh as soon as possible as the preliminary rounds are just around the corner. The following are more details on the event:

PRELIMINARIES

The Preliminaries will be hosted at four different regions throughout the UK:

• BRUWICK
- Date: Saturday, 4th February 2012
- Registration Time: 11.30am

• BRUSHEFF
- Date: Saturday, 4th February 2012
- Registration Time: 11.30am

• BRUSTOL
- Date: **Sunday, 5th February 2012**
- Registration Time: 3.00pm

• IMPERIAL
- Date: Saturday, 4th February 2012
- Registration Time: 11.30am

BruWick reserves the right to allocate each team to respective regions.

SEMI-FINAL AND FINAL

Date: Saturday, 11th February 2012
Registration Time: 11.30am
Venue: University of Warwick

Last but not least, a motivation for everyone!

PRIZES

First Prize: £160 for the team AND Trophies for EACH team member
Second Prize: £120 for the team
Third Prize: £80 for the team

Call for Bruwelsh Guard!

Anyone up for shooting games?


In conjunction with our 28th National Day, the annual Brumingham Student society has invited everyone to their BBSS Paintball Tournament! (Click here to see more updates from the organiser, BruMingham Student Society)

Same as previous years, BDSSW is going to send their own team which is popularly known as BruWelsh Guards. Therefore, this year we need more names so that we can have a complete paintball team of 15 people. Any interested individuals can contact Messoni Jaini. The cost for this is £40 per head which includes the following:

Lunch provided by the BBSS
Semi-auto Tippman 98
Scott extreme stalker goggle
WDP airtec snood
Rhino battlepack and Fatboy pods
Camo coveralls
20oz Co2 bottle
200 round loader
Body Armour
Free air refills
Fully supervised games, 3 marshals each
Onsite toilets
Lockers available for storing valuables
An unforgettable experience

Persediaan menghadapi peperiksaan

Assalamualaikum semua,

Sebagai usaha untuk mendapatkan keputusan cemerlang dalam peperiksaan yang akan datang ini, BDSSW telah mengadakan Solat Hajat berjemaah untuk perempuan di 61 Llanishen (rumah presiden) dan diikuti dengan tadarrus.


Di bawah adalah beberapa doa untuk diamalkan semasa menghadapi peperiksaan.

Doa agar dikurniakan kefahaman yang baik dan ingatan yang sempurna sewaktu mengulangkaji.

(Allahummar zuqna, Ya Rabbi fahaman nabiyyiin, wa hifzaal mursaliin,
wa 'ilhaamal malaikatiil muqarrabbin, fii 'aafiyaati, ya Arhamar raahimiin
)

Maksudnya: "Wahai Tuhanku, kurniakanlah kami fahaman nabi-nabi dan hafalan para rasul serta mendapat ilham dari para malaikat yang hampir denganMu, juga kurniakanlah kami kesihatan Wahai Tuhan Yang Amat Pengasih"

Doa sebelum masuk kelas/dewan peperik
saan

(Wa hai yi' lanaa min amrinaa rashadaa)

Maksudnya: Ya Allah, persiapkan kami mengenai dengan urusan kami dengan petunjukMu)

Doa sewaktu lupa semasa menjawab soalan.

(Subhaa na man laa ya naa mu wa laa yas huu
Allahumma zakkirnii maa nasiit
) 3 kali

Maksudnya: Maha Suci Tuhan yang tidak pernah tidur dan tidak pernah lalai, Wahai Tuhanku, ingatkanlah aku apa-apa yang aku lupa)

Semoga kita mendapat berkat dari segala usaha dan doa kita. Amin ya rabbal alamin.

We are set for Salam Brunei mood!

First of all, Happy New Year everyone!

In conjunction to that, we have changed our blog theme to suit our Salam Brunei mood! Just to remind again, we have four months left before this big event. Therefore, let's get into the mood for it.

Now our blog theme is more traditional Brunei and blend with some Wales aspect such as flag colour theme and the Welsh translation on some parts of the blog. Stay tune because there will be more and more updates posted in this blog! First teaser poster!


And to all BDSSW members, please note that we will be having our first meeting regarding this Annual Event on this Saturday, 21st January 2012. It will be in Cardiff Metropolitan University Llandaff. Be sure to come. For more information, click here.

Winter Games 2011

Asalamualaikum everyone,

On behalf of the BDSSW, we would like thank all our athletes and supporters for participating the Winter Games. Hopefully, everyone have a great time there. And of course, we would also like to congratulate our athletes for winning in several events during the Winter Games!

The Minister of Sports, Youth and Culture visit to Cardiff

10th December 2011 marks the visit of our Minister of Sports, Youth and Culture visit to Cardiff. Our society is very lucky to get a special visit from him. The following photographs are the summaries of the event.

Friendly match with Bruston

Hi everyone,

Here is basically the summary of everything from the last friendly match with Bruston which took place on the 26th November 2011 at the Talybont Court. There were three sport for this event; netball, futsal and badminton. The photographs will describe how it went.

For the remaining of the time, a number of people from BDSSW brought Bruston athletes for a tour around Cardiff. However, due to time constraint, we only managed to show our City Centre, Cardiff Castle and Winter Wonderland. Hopefully, this tour will leave a good memories for them in Cardiff. Thank you for coming Bruston!
